“For the time being. However, some time this morning my friend Dr. A. J. Grimes is due to arrive from Washington. He knows where the barn is, and will get a taxi to drive him here. He expects to meet me to see the machine in operation. Perhaps we can figure out some way of attracting his attention. Meanwhile, there is little we can do but wait.”
Danny hung his head. “I should have shut the Smallifier off. I meant to. But we were so rushed that I just forgot.”
